PORR has crowned its long-standing partnership with Rosenberger Telematics with the integration of its 17,000th telematics system.
Innovative technology, customised solutions and excellent customer service will continue to form the basis of the joint journey in the future.
The collaboration between the international construction company PORR and Rosenberger Telematics began in 2014. PORR operates in seven home markets in German-speaking countries and Eastern Europe and was therefore looking for a provider with a robust infrastructure. The telematics hardware had to be able to withstand extreme environmental conditions such as high-pressure cleaning, solar radiation and high and low temperatures. It was also important that the devices could be easily installed in the construction machinery and commercial vehicles by the company itself.
The PORR team had a clear idea of its requirements right from the start. With 154 years of experience as a construction company, PORR has realised projects all over the world, from historic Ringstrasse palaces in Vienna to modern infrastructure development in Qatar.
The joint project started with 100 telematics devices in the test phase and one year later there were already 4000 installed devices. Today, PORR is 100% equipped in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and partially equipped in Poland and Romania.
For a decade now, the partnership with Rosenberger Telematics has enabled PORR to optimise maintenance planning for equipment and vehicles and to use the maintenance centres more efficiently. More precise maintenance planning prevents warranty intervals from being exceeded and reduces costs. The company also benefits from theft protection, GPS tracking and early detection of machine problems.
‘We can now recognise changes much more quickly. Machine downtimes and potential thefts are detected at an early stage so that we can react immediately,’ says PORR Equipment Services GmbH.
